Twas Summer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIJKLML NOLO PQRNSLTL UTVTWXYX

'Twas summer through the opening grassA
The joyous flowers upsprangB
The birds in all their different tribesC
Loud in the woodlands sangB
Then forth I went and wandered farD
The wide green meadow o'erE
Where cool and clear the fountain play'dF
There strayed I in that hourE
-
Roaming on the nightingaleG
Sang sweetly in my earH
And by the greenwood's shady sideI
A dream came to me thereJ
Fast by the fountain where bright flowersK
Of sparkling hue we seeL
Close sheltered from the summer heatM
That vision came to meL
-
All care was banished and reposeN
Came o'er my wearied breastO
And kingdoms seemed to wait on meL
For I was with the blestO
-
Yet while it seemed as if awayP
My spirit soared on highQ
And in the boundless joys of heavenR
Was wrapt in ecstacyN
E'en then my body revelled stillS
In earth's festivityL
And surely never was a dreamT
So sweet as this to meL
-
Thus I dream'd on and might have dweltU
Still on that rapturous dreamT
When hark a raven's luckless noteV
Sooth 'twas a direful screamT
Broke up the vision of delightW
Instant my joy was pastX
O had a stone but met my handY
That hour had been his lastX
