Ah! Where Are Hours Departed Fled? (excerpt) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFGFHIJIJKLKL M

Ah where are hours departed fledA
Is life a dream or true indeedB
Did all my heart hath fashionedC
From fancy's visitings proceedB
Yes I have slept and now unknownD
To me the things best known beforeE
The land the people once mine ownD
Where are they they are here no moreE
My boyhood's friends all aged wornF
Despoil'd the woods the fields of homeG
Only the stream flows on forlornF
Alas that e'er such change should comeH
And he knew me once so wellI
Salutes me now as one estrangedJ
The very earth to me can tellI
Of nought but things perverted changedJ
And when I muse on other daysK
That pass'd me as the dashing oarsL
The surface of the ocean raiseK
Ceaseless my heart its fate deploresL
