Patriotism 1: Innominatus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCD EEFFGG HHII

Breathes there the man with soul so deadA
Who never to himself hath saidA
'This is my own my native land 'B
Whose heart hath ne'er within him burn'dC
As home his footsteps he hath turn'dC
From wandering on a foreign strandD
-
If such there breathe go mark him wellE
For him no Minstrel raptures swellE
High though his titles proud his nameF
Boundless his wealth as wish can claimF
Despite those titles power and pelfG
The wretch concentred all in selfG
-
Living shall forfeit fair renownH
And doubly dying shall go downH
To the vile dust from whence he sprungI
Unwept unhonour'd and unsungI
