Coronach Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFFFCBCB FFFFAFAF

He is gone on the mountainA
He is lost to the forestB
Like a summer dried fountainA
When our need was the sorestB
The font reappearingC
From the rain drops shall borrowD
But to us comes no cheeringC
To Duncan no morrowD
-
The hand of the reaperE
Takes the ears that are hoaryF
But the voice of the weeperF
Wails manhood in gloryF
The autumn winds rushingC
Waft the leaves that are searestB
But our flower was in flushingC
When blighting was nearestB
-
Fleet foot on the corrieF
Sage counsel in cumberF
Red hand in the forayF
How sound is thy slumberF
Like the dew on the mountainA
Like the foam on the riverF
Like the bubble on the fountainA
Thou art gone and for everF
