Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH IJKGLMN BGOBPQH BRSTUVWXYNZJ NA2VB2C2D2E2F2B| The winds sweep by him on his mountain throne | A |
| Hurling the clouds together at his feet | B |
| Till Earth is hidden lost and swallow'd up | C |
| As in the flood of waters and he sits | D |
| Eyeing the boundless firmament above | E |
| Proud and unruffled till his heart exclaims | F |
| I am a god Heaven is my home the Earth | G |
| Serveth me but for footstool | H |
| - | |
| The strong winds | I |
| Sweep on and wide his pinions spreadeth he | J |
| Bear me afar and on the mighty storm | K |
| He rides triumphant spurning the dim Earth | G |
| Whither O whither goest thou What star | L |
| Shall raise its mountains for thee What far orb | M |
| Echo the fierceness of thy battle cry | N |
| - | |
| What dost thou when the thunder is unloosed | B |
| I sit amongst the crags and feel the Earth | G |
| Tremble beneath me whilst my heart is firm | O |
| I gaze upon the lightning and my lid | B |
| Quivers not Is their aught 'neath which my gaze | P |
| Quaileth or waxeth faint I read the sun | Q |
| Undazzled where the stars grow dim and pale | H |
| - | |
| Men gather them to battle host meets host | B |
| And I am borne aloft to marshal them | R |
| I the great King of Battles that go forth | S |
| Conquering and to conquer So do men | T |
| Worship me Oh the mighty crash ascends | U |
| The shoutings and the glory and the woe | V |
| One great full chaunt of homage to mine ears | W |
| And there I wait the while the sacrifice | X |
| Is slain before me then down with a swoop | Y |
| I get me from my skyey throne and dye | N |
| Deep in the ruddy stream my talons grey | Z |
| Hurrah hurrah blood red's the flag for me | J |
| - | |
| The time will come proud one when thou shalt die | N |
| Die Death I cast from me as these loose plumes | A2 |
| That moult out from my pinions let them go | V |
| To Earth and Death go with them both I leave | B2 |
| To mortals What have I to do with Time | C2 |
| Let him pat forth his speed these wings of mine | D2 |
| Shall match him stroke for stroke until we reach | E2 |
| The limits of his empire and I shake him off | F2 |
| Like dust upon the threshold of the world | B |
