Song. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH

The days are past the days are pastA
When we did meet my love and IB
And youthful joys are fading fastA
Like radiant angels up the skyB
But still with every dawning dayC
Come back the blessed thoughts of oldD
Like sunshine in a morn of MayC
To keep the heart from growing coldD
-
The flowers are gone the leaves are shedE
That waved about us as we stray'dF
And many a bird for aye has fledE
That chaunted to us from the gladeF
Yet every leaf and flower that springsG
In beauty round the ripening yearH
And every summer carol bringsG
New sweetness from the old time dearH
