Serenade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE EFEFFEFE GCHCDEDE

The day is fading from the skyA
And softly shines the Star of EvenB
As watching with a lover's eyeA
The rest of Earth the peace of HeavenC
The dew is rising cool and sweetD
And zephyr rock'd the flowers are closingE
The Night steals on with noiseless feetD
Oh gentle be my love's reposingE
-
The streamlet as it flows alongE
Sounds like a voice 'mid childhood's slumbersF
And from the brake the Queen of SongE
Pours forth her softest clearest numbersF
And ever through the stirless leavesF
The summer moon is brightly streamingE
Light fancies on the sward it weavesF
As radiant be my lady's dreamingE
-
The silent hours move swiftly onG
With many a blessed vision ladenC
That all the night has softly shoneH
Upon the hearts of youth and maidenC
And now in golden splendors drestD
The new born day is gladly breakingE
Oh blissful be my lady's restD
And sweet as Morn be her awakingE
