The City Dead-house Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMBNKOPQR KST

BY the City Dead House by the gateA
As idly sauntering wending my way from the clangorB
I curious pause for lo an outcast form a poor dead prostituteC
broughtD
Her corpse they deposit unclaim'd it lies on the damp brickE
pavementF
The divine woman her body I see the Body I look on it aloneG
That house once full of passion and beauty all else I notice notH
Nor stillness so cold nor running water from faucet nor odorsI
morbific impress meJ
But the house alone that wondrous house that delicate fair houseK
that ruinL
That immortal house more than all the rows of dwellings ever builtM
Or white domed Capitol itself with majestic figure surmounted orB
all the old high spired cathedralsN
That little house alone more than them all poor desperate houseK
Fair fearful wreck tenement of a Soul itself a SoulO
Unclaim'd avoided house take one breath from my tremulous lipsP
Take one tear dropt aside as I go for thought of youQ
Dead house of love house of madness and sin crumbled crush'dR
House of life erewhile talking and laughing but ah poor houseK
dead even thenS
Months years an echoing garnish'd house but dead dead deadT
