A Sight In Camp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDEDF DDDGHD EE IJKLH

A SIGHT in camp in the day break grey and dimA
As from my tent I emerge so early sleeplessB
As slow I walk in the cool fresh air the path near by the hospitalC
tentD
Three forms I see on stretchers lying brought out there untendedD
lyingE
Over each the blanket spread ample brownish woollen blanketD
Grey and heavy blanket folding covering allF
-
Curious I halt and silent standD
Then with light fingers I from the face of the nearest the firstD
just lift the blanketD
Who are you elderly man so gaunt and grim with well grey'd hairG
and flesh all sunken about the eyesH
Who are you my dear comradeD
-
Then to the second I step And who are you my child and darlingE
Who are you sweet boy with cheeks yet bloomingE
-
Then to the third a face nor child nor old very calm as ofI
beautiful yellow white ivoryJ
Young man I think I know you I think this face of yours is the faceK
of the Christ himselfL
Dead and divine and brother of all and here again he liesH
