To An Umbrella Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEFFGGHHBCEEDD DEEIIEJKKEELL

Thou art the belonging blestA
Of the maid I love the bestA
Gardened in some tropic groveB
Nurtured by the powers aboveC
Was thy wood so rich and rareD
For her hand so small and fairD
Deftly carved by cunning craftE
For her hold thy finished haftE
And thy silken folds so softF
Where the gentle breezes waftF
Fragrance from the clustered vinesG
Where the sun so warmly shinesG
Where the skies of purest hueH
Bend above in deepest blueH
There so soft and fine were woveB
Woven only for my loveC
But it is not that thy haftE
Carved is by cunning craftE
Of a wood so rich and rareD
That thy folds are soft and fairD
Vying only with her hairD
Not for this that I addrestE
Thee in song and called thee blestE
But what thou for her hast doneI
Shaded from the scorching sunI
On the burning summer dayE
'Neath thy silken canopyJ
Sheltered from the falling rainK
Lest her hallowed cheek it stainK
Shielded from the stormy blastE
As it hurried wildly pastE
Surely thou art blest for suchL
Oh that I might do as muchL
