The Song Of The Summer Cloud Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JBKB LMNM OPQP

I am arrayed in light and shadeA
A free born spirit of airB
A fanciful theme like a twilight dreamC
Or a maiden young and fairB
-
And now I float like a phantom boatD
With a vague and varying hueE
Fading from sight in the beams of lightF
On an ocean clear and blueE
-
And now I am wooed by the wind so rudeG
As he rushes in fury pastH
Who his bride doth crown with a darkening frownI
As I ride in the car of the blastH
-
And down I pour 'mid the thunder's roarJ
While the lightnings gleam and glareB
Till the floods resound as they burst their boundK
And laugh at what man can dareB
-
And now he is flown and has left me aloneL
To brood in bereavement and woeM
And I hang like a pall while the rain drops fallN
Like tear drops steady and slowM
-
But again he returns when my gloom he discernsO
And subdues his dark spirit of stormsP
And the shower descends while the rainbow blendsQ
And the sunshine brightens and warmsP
