The Revolution In Russia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCACA DEDEFG

From Lapland to the land of TamerlaneA
Kamchatka to the confines of the TurkB
The spirit tyrants never can restrainA
When once awake is mightily at workB
Liberty frantic with a fearful hopeC
Out of long darkness suddenly arisenA
Maddens the dull half human herds who gropeC
And rend the bars of their ancestral prisonA
-
Over the wan lone steppe her couriers speedD
The secret forest echoes her commandE
She smites the sword that made her children bleedD
And Death and Havoc hold the famished landE
But God overrules and oft man's greatest goodF
Is won through nights of dread and days of bloodG
