The Noble Woman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKLK MNONPQRS

A woman on an empire's throneA
Has sat in queenly prideB
And swayed the sceptre of her powerC
O'er land and ocean wideB
A crown of gold adorned the headD
That held a nation's fateE
And courtly knights and princely peersF
Did on her bidding waitE
-
A woman too in ancient daysG
Has borne the warrior's brandH
And by heroic deed performedI
Has saved her native landH
She too has sung inspiring songsJ
And told entrancing talesK
Has softened and has swayed the mindL
Where bolder genius failsK
-
But nobler far than thron d queenM
Or heroine of fameN
Or she who by her potent penO
Has won illustrious nameN
Is she who seeks the needy outP
Nor scorns the wretched's doorQ
But with compassion Christlike lovesR
To help the humble poorS
