The Gold-miners Of British Columbia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFG H FEFG IBJBKGFG LMNMOOFO

They come not from the sunny sunny southA
Nor from the Arctic regionB
Nor from the east the busy busy eastC
The where man's name is legionB
But they come from the west the rugged rugged westD
From the world's remotest edgesE
And their pockets they are filled with the yellow yellow goldF
That they mined in the mountain ledgesG
-
CHORUSH
-
Then hey lads hey for the mining man so boldF
Who comes from the world's far edgesE
And hey for the gold the yellow yellow goldF
That is stored in the mountain ledgesG
-
They basked not they in balmy tropic shadeI
'Neath orange tree and banyanB
But braved the bush the torrent and the steepJ
By gorge and gulch and canyonB
They would not be held back in cities over desksK
Or among the homestead hedgesG
So their pockets now are filled with the yellow yellow goldF
That they mined in the mountain ledgesG
-
They left their homes their loved ones all behindL
Forsook kind friend and neighborM
And went to seek the thing of greatest worthN
For gold rare gold to laborM
Oh they bled the old earth they opened up her veinsO
With their picks and drills and sledgesO
And their pockets now are filled with the yellow yellow goldF
That they mined in the mountain ledgesO
