Paestum Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

Paestum your temples and your streetsA
Have been restored to viewB
Your fadeless Grecian beauty greetsA
The eyes of men anewB
-
But where are all your roses nowC
Those wonderful delightsD
That made such garlands for the browC
Of your fair SybaritesD
-
They in your time were more renown'dE
And dearer to your heartF
Than these fine works which mark the boundE
And highest reach of artF
-
We'd see you as you look'd of oldG
Though column arch and wallH
Were worth a kingdom to beholdG
One rose would shame them allH
