On Charles Lamb's Sonnet, "work." Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFEF

Who first invented work asks Elia heA
Whose life to an ungenial task was wedB
And answers Satan but it could not beA
On idleness his foul ambition fedB
By idleness the heavenly domicilesC
Were lost to him and all his idle crewD
In idleness he hatches all his wilesC
And mischief finds for idle hands to doD
-
His business ever was to scamp and shirkE
And scout the task that too ignoble seemedF
And in snug corners serpentlike to lurkE
Where no one of his presence ever dreamedF
He never knew the zest of honest workE
Nor ever shall or he would be redeemedF
