Thee best of leaves I loveA
In forest or in groveB
O Maple LeafC
O thou which art the signD
Of this dear land of mineD
What loveliness is thineD

Naught can with thee compareE
On earth or in the airE
O Maple LeafC
Wondrous thy beauties areF
Thy form is like a starF
But thou art not afarF
O Maple LeafC

When drops of dew adornG
Thy surface in the mornG
O Maple LeafC
No hue so fair is seenH
In silk or satin's sheenH
As thy rich shade of greenH
O Maple LeafC

No music in my earI
Is half so sweet to hearI
O Maple LeafC
As that which thou dost makeJ
When winds of summer shakeJ
The branches of the brakeJ
O Maple LeafC

Most beautiful in painK
When suns begin to waneK
O Maple LeafC
Thou never growest oldL
But in the time of coldL
Thou turnest but to goldL
O Maple LeafC

And when the earth expiresM
And mute are all her choirsN
O Maple LeafC
Thy dower thou dost shedO
Of tribute richest redO
Upon her sombre bedO
O Maple LeafC

May heaven bless thy landP
And make it strong to standP

For it we humbly prayQ
That God will be its stayQ
