To some the heavenly Father goodA
Has given raiment rich and fineB
And tables spread with dainty foodC
And jewels rare that brightly shineB

To some He's given gold that buysD
Immunity from petty careE
Freedom and leisure and the prizeD
Of pleasing books and pictures fairE

To some He's given wide domainsF
And high estate and tranquil easeG
And homes where all refinement reignsF
And everything combines to pleaseG

To some He's given minds to knowH
The what and how the where and whenI
To some a genius that can throwH
A light upon the hearts of menI
-
To some He's given fortunes freeJ
From sorrows and replete with joysK
To some a thousand friends to meJ
He's given my two little boysK
