Lines Written On A Sabbath Morning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA ABAB CDCD

The snow lies pure and peaceful on the groundA
Serenely smiles the azure sky o'erheadA
The Sabbath spirit dwells on all aroundA
And weekly toils and discords all are fledA
-
But ah my soul is filled with worldly thoughtA
My God 'tis filled with thoughts of self and sinB
With seeming care and trouble it is fraughtA
And peaceless discontentment reigns withinB
-
Send down from heaven the Spirit of Thy loveC
Its soothing influence in my soul instilD
Uplift my worldly thoughts to things aboveC
Subserve my wishes to Thy better willD
