Invocation To Summer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCD EEFFD GGHHD IIJJD

Come Summer come nor in the south delayA
We do thee honor with a longer dayA
We prize thee more we better know thy worthB
We hold thee dearer in the truer northC
Come Summer comeD
-
Come Summer come and in the early dawnE
Find sparkling dewdrops on the fragrant lawnE
Hush all before thy majesty at noonF
And hallow the long evening hours come soonF
Come Summer comeD
-
Come Summer come make meadow grasses longG
Make all the groves exuberant with songG
The pasture corners canopy with shadesH
And thickly roof the silent forest gladesH
Come Summer comeD
-
Come Summer come and with thy magic breathI
Make consummation of the death of deathI
Complete the work of thy sweet sister SpringJ
Life more abundantly give everythingJ
Come Summer comeD
