A Day Redeemed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBDA EFEFEF

I rose and idly sauntered to the paneA
And on the March bleak mountain bent my lookB
And standing there a sad review I tookB
Of what the day had brought me What the gainA
To Wisdom's store What holds had Knowledge ta'enC
I mused upon the lightly handled bookB
The erring thought and felt a stern rebukeD
Alas alas the day hath been in vainA
-
But as I gazed upon the upper blueE
With many a twining jasper ridge up ploughedF
Sudden up soaring swung upon my viewE
A molten rolling sunset laden cloudF
My spirit stood and caught its glorious hueE
Not lost the day it leaping cried aloudF
