The Princess Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCD ECFFC GHIJB DKLMN

The stone grey roses by the desert's rimA
Are soft edged shadows on the moonlit sandB
Grey are the broken walls of KhangavarC
That haunt of nightingales whose voices areC
Fountains that bubble in the dream soft MoonD
-
Shall the Gazelles with moonbeam pale bright feetE
Entering the vanished gardens sniff the airC
Some scent may linger of that ancient timeF
Musician's song or poet's passionate rhymeF
The Princess dead still wandering love sick thereC
-
A Princess pale and cold as mountain snowG
In cool dark chambers sheltered from the sunH
With long dark lashes and small delicate handsI
All Persia sighed to kiss her small red mouthJ
Until they buried her in shifting sandB
-
And the Gazelles shall flit by in the MoonD
And never shake the frail Tree's lightest leavesK
And moonlight roses perfume the pale DawnL
Until the scarlet life that left her lipsM
Gathers its shattered beauty in the skyN
