The More Loving One Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFF GGHH

Looking up at the stars I know quite wellA
That for all they care I can go to hellA
But on earth indifference is the leastB
We have to dread from man or beastB
How should we like it were stars to burnC
With a passion for us we could not returnC
If equal affection cannot beD
Let the more loving one be meD
-
Admirer as I think I amE
Of stars that do not give a damnE
I cannot now I see them sayF
I missed one terribly all dayF
-
Were all stars to disappear or dieG
I should learn to look at an empty skyG
And feel its total dark sublimeH
Though this might take me a little timeH
