The Toast Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB EFGFHF ICJCKC ALMLAL

A toast to thee dear old yearA
While the last moments flyB
A toast to thy sweet memoryC
We'll lift the glasses highB
And bid to thee a fond farewellD
As thou art passing byB
-
A toast to those who reaped successE
In this good year of graceF
A toast to every one of themG
Come Give the victors placeF
Come wish them well with right good willH
The winners in the raceF
-
And one toast more To those who failedI
Wherever they may beC
With faces white they fought the fightJ
But missed the victoryC
So here's to them the ones who stroveK
On land and on the seaC
-
Fair dreams to thee grey old yearA
Thy working time is doneL
And gone for thee the silver moonM
And golden noon day sunL
Yet sad old year and glad old yearA
We'll know no better oneL
