The Gleaner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FGFG HIJI KLKL

As children gather daisies down green waysA
Mid butterflies and beesB
To day across the meadows of past daysA
I gathered memoriesB
-
I stored my heart with harvest of lost hoursC
With blossoms of spent yearsD
Leaves that had known the sun of joy and hoursC
Drenched with the rain of tearsE
-
And perfumes that were long ago distilledF
From April's pink and whiteG
Again with all their old enchantment filledF
My spirit with delightG
-
From out the limbo where lost roses goH
The place we may not seeI
With all its petals sweet and half ablowJ
One rose returned to meI
-
Where falls the sunlight chequered by the shadeK
On meadows of the pastL
I gathered blossoms that no sun can fadeK
No winter wind can blastL
