Sea-born Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GAHA IJKJ LMNM

Afar in the turbulent cityA
In a hive where men make goldB
He stood at his loom from dawn to darkC
While the passing years were toldB
-
And when he knew it was summer timeD
By the grey dust on the streetE
By the lingering hours of daylightF
And the sultry noon tide heatE
-
Oh he longed as a captive sea birdG
To leave his cage and be freeA
For his heart like a shell kept singingH
The old old song of the seaA
-
And amid the noise and confusionI
Of wheels that were never stillJ
He heard the wind through the scented pinesK
On a rough storm beaten hillJ
-
While beyond a maze of painted threadsL
Where his tireless shuttle flewM
In fancy he saw the sunlit wavesN
Beckon him out to the blueM
