A Pagan Prayer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GCGC HIHI

Lord of all Life When my hours are doneA
Take me and make me anewB
And give me back to the earth and the sunA
And the sky's unlimited blueB
-
The nightingale sings in an ecstasyC
To the moonlit April nightD
But my songs are locked in the heart of meC
Like birds that may not take flightD
-
The little purple winged swallows that flyE
Through waves of the upper airF
Have a sweeter liberty Lord than IE
Who may not follow them thereF
-
Pavilions of sunshine tents of the rainG
For these the wild and the freeC
And for us walled garden and window paneG
And bolt and staple and keyC
-
We are worn with wisdom that never bringsH
Peace to the world and its woeI
For a space with Thy joyous lesser thingsH
Teach me the faith I would knowI
