The Bird In The Valley Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDEFFE GHHGIIJKLM NOOPDCQRRQ

Above the darkened house the night is spreadA
The hidden valley holdsB
Vapour and dew and silence in its foldsB
And waters sighing on the river bedA
No wandering wind there isC
To swing the star wreaths of the clematisD
Against the stoneE
Out of the hanging woods above the shoresF
One liquid voice of throbbing crystal poursF
Singing aloneE
-
A stream of magic through the heart of nightG
Its unseen passage cleavesH
Into the darkened room below the eavesH
It falls from out the woods upon the heightG
A strain of ecstasyI
Wrought on the confines of eternityI
Glamour and painJ
And echoes gathered from a world of yearsK
Old phantoms dim like mirage seen through tearsL
But young againM
-
Peace peace the bird sings on amid the woodsN
Peace from the land that is the spirit's goalO
The land that nonce may see but with his soulO
Peace on the darkened house above the floodsP
Pale constellations of the clematisD
Hark to that voice of hisC
That will not ceaseQ
Swing low droop low your sprayR
Light with your white stars all the shadowed wayR
To peace peaceQ
