Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA AAAA ACCA

When little lights in little ports come outA
Quivering down through water with the starsB
And all the fishing fleet of slender sparsB
Range at their moorings veer with tide aboutA
-
When race of wind is stilled and sails are furledA
And underneath our single riding lightA
The curve of black ribbed deck gleams palely whiteA
And slumbrous waters pool a slumbrous worldA
-
Then and then only have I thought how sweetA
Old age might sink upon a windy youthC
Quiet beneath the riding light of truthC
Weathered through storms and gracious in retreatA
