Constantinople - The Greek Han Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK

A sunny court with wooden balconiesA
And wool hung out to dry in gaudy skeinsB
A fountain and some pigeons murmuringlyC
Picking up yellow grainsB
-
Pass through a little tumble down green doorD
Into the dark and crowded shop the TurkE
Crouching above the brasier smiles and nodsF
'Tis all his daily workE
-
Here marble heads and alabaster jarsG
Fragments of porphyry and Persian tilesH
Lie heaped in ruin and at our dismayI
The old Turk shrugs and smilesH
-
And sips his coffee reaching out a handJ
To throw upon the brasier at his feetK
A handful of dried herbs whose sudden smokeL
Rises up incense sweetK
