The Genesis Of The Butterfly Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABBAACCDDEEFFGGAA

The dawn is smiling on the dew that coversA
The tearful roses lo the little loversA
That kiss the buds and all the flutteringsA
In jasmine bloom and privet of white wingsA
That go and come and fly and peep and hideB
With muffled music murmured far and wideB
Ah the Spring time when we think of all the laysA
That dreamy lovers send to dreamy maysA
Of the fond hearts within a billet boundC
Of all the soft silk paper that pens woundC
The messages of love that mortals writeD
Filled with intoxication of delightD
Written in April and before the May timeE
Shredded and flown playthings for the wind's playtimeE
We dream that all white butterflies aboveF
Who seek through clouds or waters souls to loveF
And leave their lady mistress in despairG
To flit to flowers as kinder and more fairG
Are but torn love letters that through the skiesA
Flutter and float and change to butterfliesA
