Epitaph Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE

He lived he played a little laughing spriteA
Why Nature didst thou snatch him from the lightA
Hast thou not myriad birds within thy bowersB
Stars and great woods blue skies and ocean wildC
Why then from his lone mother snatch the childC
And hid him underneath the bed of flowersB
-
This one child more cannot enlarge thy reignD
Star spangled Nature thou no joy dost gainD
The Mother's heart so many cares oppressE
That heart whose joys do equal pangs createF
Abyss as thou O Nature deep and greatF
Is empty made and void by this child lessE
