Of what offense is my ascent to womanhood,
That I must pay with perpetual pain,
How have I transgressed, tell me if you would,
That my rights must again suffer such disdain.
Would you not cease ere you clip all of me?
My wings, my freedom, my gender, my wisdom,
Do I get to choose the life I want to see,
Or is yours mine but mine your venom.
