When The World Shifts Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDEE FFGG HHII

The ground beneath me bends and breaksA
the past dissolves the present shakesA
A mourning hum a shadowed songB
for all the places I belongedC
-
Between two worlds I stand aloneD
one safe familiar carved in stoneD
the other vast uncertain skiesE
where every ending births surpriseE
-
It s right to grieve to ache to yearnF
to watch old fires fade and burnF
Yet in the ashes seeds take rootG
new voices rise new truths recruitG
-
Change is a blade but also a keyH
unlocking parts unknown to meH
Through pain through loss through shifting airI
I find new strength already thereI
