The Mask Falls Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFGH IIBB

If I speak the truth unshaped unplannedA
no polished words no staged commandA
the crowd may scatter shadows fleeB
but those who stay will truly seeB
-
For masks can charm but never bindC
they hide the soul they trick the mindC
Real intimacy demands the costD
to lose the ones who loved the glossE
-
The circle small the circle trueF
remains when all the false are throughF
Honesty does not please the crowdG
but draws the few who stand unbowedH
-
So let the mask be torn awayI
the right ones linger come what mayI
In truth in light the soul is freeB
connection born authenticallyB
