I Used To Believe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFGG HHIJ

I used to think that kindness sungA
would echo back from every tongueA
that gentle hands would be repaidB
that loyalty could never fadeB
-
But life revealed a harsher truthC
not all return the grace of youthC
Some walk away some silence speaksD
their distance louder than their creedsE
-
So now I guard the flame I keepF
protect my soul though shadows seepF
It is not cold to turn asideG
but wisdom clothed in quiet prideG
-
For beauty lies in strength concealedH
in scars that teach in wounds that healedH
No echo needed none requiredI
my light endures though theirs expiredJ
