Nursery Rhyme. Lii. Tales Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABACC DDEDFF GGHGIIJJ

My dear do you knowA
How a long time agoA
Two poor little childrenB
Whose names I don't knowA
Were stolen away on a fine summer's dayC
And left in a wood as I've heard people sayC
-
And when it was nightD
So sad was their plightD
The sun it went downE
And the moon gave no lightD
They sobb'd and they sigh'd and they bitterly criedF
And the poor little things they lay down and diedF
-
And when they were deadG
The Robins so redG
Brought strawberry leavesH
And over them spreadG
And all the day longI
They sung them this songI
Poor babes in the wood poor babes in the woodJ
And don't you remember the babes in the woodJ
