Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DECE FBGB DECE ABHB DEIE JBBB DEKE LBMB DENE OBBB

There were three jovial WelshmenA
As I have heard them sayB
And they would go a huntingC
Upon St David's dayB
-
All the day they huntedD
And nothing could they findE
But a ship a sailingC
A sailing with the windE
-
One said it was a shipF
The other he said nayB
The third said it was a houseG
With the chimney blown awayB
-
And all the night they huntedD
And nothing could they findE
But the moon a glidingC
A gliding with the windE
-
One said it was the moonA
The other he said nayB
The third said it was a cheeseH
And half o't cut awayB
-
And all the day they huntedD
And nothing could they findE
But a hedgehog in a bramble bushI
And that they left behindE
-
The first said it was a hedgehogJ
The second he said nayB
The third it was a pincushionB
And the pins stuck in wrong wayB
-
And all the night they huntedD
And nothing could they findE
But a hare in a turnip fieldK
And that they left behindE
-
The first said it was a hareL
The second he said nayB
The third said it was a calfM
And the cow had run awayB
-
And all the day they huntedD
And nothing could they findE
But an owl in a holly treeN
And that they left behindE
-
One said it was an owlO
The other he said nayB
The third said 'twas an old manB
And his beard growing greyB
