And then the smiling bridegroom saidA
Unto the preacher Shall I payB
To you the usual fee todayB
Or would you have me wait a yearC

If I should find the marriage stateD
As happy as I estimateE
The preacher lost no time in thoughtF
To his reply no study broughtF
There were no wrinkles on his browG
Said he I'll take three dollars nowG
