Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGHDEIIEEEJ JDEKKLLEMMNNNDOO

A friend of mine was married to a scoldA
To me he came and all his troubles toldA
Said he She's like a woman raving madB
Alas my friend said I that's very badB
No not so bad said he for with her trueC
I had both house and land and money tooC
That was well said ID
No not so well said heE
For I and her own brotherF
Went to law with one anotherF
I was cast the suit was lostG
And every penny went to pay the costH
That was bad said ID
No not so bad said heE
For we agreed that he the house should keepI
And give to me four score of Yorkshire sheepI
All fat and fair and fine they were to beE
Well then said I sure that was well for theeE
No not so well said heE
For when the sheep I gotJ
They every one died of the rotJ
That was bad said ID
No not so bad said heE
For I had thought to scrape the fatK
And keep it in an oaken vatK
Then into tallow melt for winter storeL
Well then said I that's better than beforeL
'Twas not so well said heE
For having got a clumsy fellowM
To scrape the fat and melt the tallowM
Into the melting fat the fire catchesN
And like brimstone matchesN
Burnt my house to ashesN
That was bad said ID
No not so bad said he for what is bestO
My scolding wife has gone among the restO
