The Garden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACBA DEFDEF

Behind the pinions of the SeraphimA
Whose wings flame out upon the swinging spheresB
There is a Voice that speaks the numbered yearsB
Until that Day when all comes back to HimA
Behind the faces of the CherubimA
Whose smiles of love are seen through broken tearsC
There is a Face that every creature fearsB
The Face of Love no veil may ever dimA
-
O Angels of Glad Laughter and of SongD
Your voices sound so near the little wallE
Can scarcely hide the trees that bend and nodF
Unbar the gate for you have waited longD
To show the Garden that was made for allE
Where all is safe beneath the Smile of GodF
