To Julia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD CECE FGFG HIHI BJBJ

Sing lovely Girl to hear Thee singA
Hush'd is the listening airB
My spirit trembles on the wingA
And no delay can bearB
-
Those down cast eyes that smile supprestC
Thy conscious power betrayD
Yet Siren grant the bold requestC
Come steal my heart awayD
-
See see those ruby lips divideC
An ivory shrine appearsE
There Harmony and Love resideC
To ravish mortal earsE
-
And hark they from that sweet recessF
Breathe their celestial laysG
The enchanting sounds my thought possessF
With rapture and amazeG
-
Still pressing on with strong controlH
I feel the lavish strainI
Till drunk with bliss my wilder'd soulH
Reels on the brink of painI
-
Ah how could I so rashly dareB
Contend with Powers divineJ
The pride of victory forbearB
My heart is wholly thineJ
