Lines On Milton Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFG HIJKLKKMKNKONPKKQNR

Supposed To Be Written Near His TombA
-
MiltonB
the name of that divinest BardC
Acts on Imagination like a charmD
Of holiest power with deep religious aweE
She hails the sacred spot where sleep entomb'dF
The relics that enshrined his godlike soulG
-
O with what heartfelt interest and delightH
With what astonishment will all the sonsI
Of Adam till the end of time peruseJ
His lofty wondrous page with what just prideK
Will England ever boast her Milton's nameL
The Poet matchless in sublimityK
E'en now in Memory's raptured ear resoundK
The deep toned strains of the Miltonic lyreM
Inspiring virtuous heart ennobling thoughtK
They breathe of heaven the imaginative PowerN
No longer treads the guilt polluted worldK
But soars aloft and draws empyreal airO
Rapt Faith anticipates the judgment hourN
When at the Archangel's call the dead shall wakeP
With frames resuscitated glorifiedK
Then then in strains like these the sainted BardK
Conspicuous mid salvation's earth born heirsQ
Shall join harmoniously the heavenly choirN
And sing the Saviour's praise in endless blissR
