God's New Year's Gift Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBADED FGHGIJFJ K L

What shall the coming year bring forthA
O Lord who rulest the landB
For the navies of the sea and airC
Are but stubble in Thy handB
The battalions in the field go forthA
They arm in mighty lineD
Do they kneel to know Thy holy willE
Have they asked from Thee a signD
-
The kings invoke Thy holy nameF
In their carnage and their strifeG
But the purple gift it was Thine to giveH
Recks not of pity nor lifeG
For they're drunk with the wine of lustful powerI
And seared with the sins of earthJ
And their prayers and preachments now mock Thy nameF
And make of Thy laws but mirthJ
