When On The Lip The Sigh Delays. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFGHDED IJIJEDED

When on the lip the sigh delaysA
As if 'twould linger there for everB
When eyes would give the world to gazeA
Yet still look down and venture neverB
When tho' with fairest nymphs we roveC
There's one we dream of more than anyD
If all this is not real loveE
'Tis something wondrous like it FannyD
-
To think and ponder when apartF
On all we've got to say at meetingG
And yet when near with heart to heartF
Sit mute and listen to their beatingG
To see but one bright object moveH
The only moon where stars are manyD
If all this is not downright loveE
I prithee say what is my FannyD
-
When Hope foretells the brightest bestI
Tho' Reason on the darkest reckonsJ
When Passion drives us to the westI
Tho' Prudence to the eastward beckonsJ
When all turns round below aboveE
And our own heads the most of anyD
If this is not stark staring loveE
Then you and I are sages FannyD
