The Harp That Once Through Tara's Halls Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCE FGFGHIHI

The harp that once through Tara's hallsA
The soul of music shedB
Now hangs as mute on Tara's wallsA
As if that soul were fledB
So sleeps the pride of former daysC
So glory's thrill is o'erD
And hearts that once beat high for praiseC
Now feel that pulse no moreE
-
No more to chiefs and ladies brightF
The harp of Tara swellsG
The chord alone that breaks at nightF
Its tale of ruin tellsG
Thus Freedom now so seldom wakesH
The only throb she givesI
Is when some heart indignant breaksH
To show that still she livesI
