Still When Daylight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBB CDBBB EEFFF GGBBB

Still when daylight o'er the waveA
Bright and soft its farewell gaveA
I used to hear while light was fallingB
O'er the wave a sweet voice callingB
Mournfully at distance callingB
-
Ah once how blest that maid would comeC
To meet her sea boy hastening homeD
And thro' the night those sounds repeatingB
Hail his bark with joyous greetingB
Joyously his light bark greetingB
-
But one sad night when winds were highE
Nor earth nor heaven could hear her cryE
She saw his boat come tossing overF
Midnight's wave but not her loverF
No never more her loverF
-
And still that sad dream loath to leaveG
She comes with wandering mind at eveG
And oft we hear when night is fallingB
Faint her voice thro' twilight callingB
Mournfully at twilight callingB
