Yes be the glorious revel mineB
Where humor sparkles from the wineB
Around me let the youthful choirC
Respond to my enlivening lyreD
And while the red cup foams alongE
Mingle in soul as well as songE
Then while I sit with flowerets crownedF
To regulate the goblets roundF
Let but the nymph our banquet's prideG
Be seated smiling by my sideG
And earth has not a gift or powerC
That I would envy in that hourC
Envy oh never let its blightH
Touch the gay hearts met here tonightH
Far hence be slander's sidelong woundsI
Nor harsh dispute nor discord's soundsJ
Disturb a scene where all should beK
Attuned to peace and harmonyK
-
Come let us hear the harp's gay noteL
Upon the breeze inspiring floatL
While round us kindling into loveM
Young maidens through the light dance moveN
Thus blest with mirth and love and peaceO
Sure such a life should never ceaseO
