Lord Wellington And The Ministers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD

So gently in peace Alcibiades smiledA
While in battle he shone forth so terribly grandB
That the emblem they graved on his seal was a childA
With a thunderbolt placed in its innocent handB
-
Oh Wellington long as such Ministers wieldC
Your magnificent arm the same emblem will doD
For while they're in the Council and you in the FieldC
We've the babies in them and the thunder in youD
