The Grave Of Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

I dug beneath the cypress shadeA
What well might seem an elfin's graveB
And every pledge in earth I laidA
That erst thy false affection gaveB
-
I press'd them down the sod beneathC
I placed one mossy stone aboveD
And twined the rose's fading wreathC
Around the sepulchre of loveD
-
Frail as thy love the flowers were deadE
Ere yet the evening sun was setF
But years shall see the cypress spreadE
Immutable as my regretF
